For the period from 1019 to 2020, traffic police officers issued about 167 million fines. The total amount was 117 million rubles, which is 10% more than in 2019. The Kommersant newspaper has compiled a list of five leaders in terms of the number of fines.
- First place is the Moscow Region (20.5 billion rubles).
- The second is occupied by Moscow (23 billion rubles).
- The third is Tatarstan (4.72 billion rubles).
- Fourth - Krasnodar Territory (4 billion rubles).
- Fifth - the Sverdlovsk region (3.7 billion rubles).
The rest of the fines apply to the rest of the cities and regions.
However, it cannot be judged that the number of violations tends to only grow. In other regions, the situation is completely different. For example, in the Jewish Autonomous Region there was a decrease by 50%, in Mordovia - by 48%, in the Republic of Tyva - 42%, Kirov Region - by 36%.
It is believed that Chukotka is a law-abiding region. He received only 7.1 thousand fines. However, it should be remembered that there are no cameras there, so the number of unrecorded accidents can be much higher.
According to the generally accepted opinion, the increase in violations is associated with the epidemiological situation in the country. However, during the period when movement restrictions were in force, the number of fines was comparatively less. If the restrictions continued, there would be no violations at all.
At the moment, violations are recorded not only by the traffic police, but also by specially equipped cameras that record the number of the offender's car and send it to the penalty box database. This preventive measure allows you to take control of large sections of roads where the placement of traffic police officers is impossible. Let's hope that the number and amount of fines will stop growing. Good luck on the road!
