The Golf R Estate is a long-awaited novelty with aesthetics comparable to the beloved hot hatch of the same name. It is important to note that the company has endowed its latest brainchild with all the advantages of a station wagon. We are talking about a large wheelbase (relatively more), a spacious trunk (as much as 1642 liters), a convenient opening of the fifth door (allows you to quickly load large luggage). Also, the "car" can boast of another feature - a towing hitch. By ordering the latter (it is not included in the standard equipment), the driver will be able to use trailers weighing up to 1.9 tons.
Visually, the R-version differs from its predecessor modifications by 18 and 19-inch wheels (their design is unique), an aggressive bumper style, neat side skirts, a 4-barrel sports exhaust system, and an R-shaped nameplate.
The car will enter the market in 3 color options: blue, white, black.
The car was equipped with a turbo engine, 7-speed gearbox. The novelty, which has 320 horses under the hood, is an all-wheel drive. It stands out against the general background with the integrated 4Motion system, which includes individual clutch packages (they allow you to control the thrust vector using the rear axle shafts).
Owners of the R Performance Package will be able to activate Drift Mode and another dedicated Sport Mode (tested at the Nürburgring). This modification is equipped with 4 standard presets.
Want to know how the Golf R Estate will delight car enthusiasts by opening access to the salon? The manufacturer has bet on redesigned controls. Instead of an analog display and classic buttons, you will find sliders, a touchpad and a modern screen. It looks attractive, but the main advantage of such an update is its practicality.
