Models of the Romanian subsidiary of Renault, Dacia will be transferred to electric traction in 2-3 years.
The Dacia sub-brand, owned by the Renault brand, is going to show electrified versions of well-known models until 2023. Brand manager Philippe Bureau believes that by that time the prices for electric components will decrease, so that Dacia will be able to offer hybrid cars at a competitive price.
Dacia's rechargeable and mild hybrids will receive Renault's electrified technology. According to Philippe Bureau, the transition to electric motors is not able to scare away target customers, so the price difference between Dacia and Renault will be at least 20 percent. It is noteworthy that the Dacia top manager provides for the inevitability of the electrification procedure for budget cars, but puts it off for years.
