The news that the Japanese have decided to return to Airtrek production has appeared on the Internet relatively recently. The corresponding name, as you know, had a representative of the first generation Mitsubishi Outlander (it was produced in the period from 2001 to 2008). The car was produced specifically for the Japanese market. Now the updated version is planned to be sold in other parts of the world.
At the moment, little is known about the new product. The brand did not disclose all the chips of the crossover, demonstrating the appearance of the car. Looking at the design of the upcoming Mitsubishi Airtrek, it can be argued that it differs from its predecessor in its body and design. This part of the car is decorated with an X-shaped grille, which was previously awarded to representatives of the popular lines from Mitsubishi (mainly the latest brainchilds of the company). As for the rear of the Airtrek, the emphasis is on the interesting design Y-shaped lights.
The novelty was developed from scratch. However, it has a lot in common with the GAC Aion V electric car (launched in 2020). The car will be equipped with a 184-horsepower electric motor. On a single charge, it allows the car to cover a distance of 600 km, which cannot but impress. Mitsubishi Airtrek is the perfect start for a new "electric" chapter in the history of the Mitsubishi brand.
Specialists from the Chinese plant GAC will be responsible for the production process of the new brainchild of the company. Interestingly, it was here that the predecessor of Airtrek, a donor named Aion V, was assembled here. The machine is expected to be presented in many markets, not only in Japan. However, where it will appear first and at what price it will be sold is still unknown. The expert community held its breath in anticipation of this information, as well as details on the technical specifications of the updated Airtrek.
