BMW announced the recall of 22 vehicles from Russia due to a defect in the positive battery cable.
The BMW 5 series and 6 series are subject to return, moreover, these are relatively old cars sold from June 2003 to August 2010. Pretext: under the influence of high humidity, road reagents and other adverse factors, the unit may overtake corrosion in the threaded connection of the battery positive lead. This will entail various failures up to the start failure.
In addition, the manufacturer claims that in borderline cases, due to an increase in resistance, the temperature of this connection may increase, so the wiring cannot be melted. On all machines, the take-off point will be checked and the unit will be finalized in accordance with the results of the check. BMW is responsible for all repair costs. The list of VIN numbers of cars subject to revocation can be found on the Rosstandart website.
