The last generation of the 5 Series in the body version of the G30 was introduced to the world in 2017.Since then, the car market has changed a lot and popular cars, unsurprisingly, have been updated. Despite the fact that car enthusiasts have received them quite warmly, it is expected that the current generation will no longer roll off the assembly lines with the onset of 2024.
Whatever it was, BMW does not intend to put an end to the "five" right now. Proof of this is the photos that spy photos have leaked to the network relatively recently. Reporters managed to catch the novelty of a large concern in Germany. Representatives of the company drove her to the corporate test site. As you might expect, the car would be covered with camouflage film. Nevertheless, this did not prevent experts from finding out something new about the G60 (this is the index that the "five" will receive).
The new generation was developed on the CLAR, a modular platform that was also used in the production of the G30. Interestingly, the same base was taken for the construction of electric cars i4, iX. Given this, it can be assumed that the G60 will enter the market in a modification with an internal combustion engine, in the format of a hybrid and a purebred electric car. The latter option, which is possible, could be called the BMW i5, which is a good idea when you think about BMW's plans to release at least 2025 more electric vehicles by 7.
The upcoming BMW i5 will most likely be available in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions (like its i4 and iX predecessors). As for the power indicator, according to experts, it will fluctuate between 335-536 "horses", which is impressive.
The appearance of the novelty (electric, hybrid and with an internal combustion engine), judging by the bends of the prototype released for testing, will be unique, radically different from what fans of the latest BMW offspring are used to.
