In less than a month, the American company Hummer will unveil the highly anticipated Hummer EV SUV. Information about this event was shown on the official website of the automaker - the countdown started against the background with the silhouette of the future novelty.
Already, we can draw some conclusions about the exterior of the SUV. The Hummer EV is based on the pickup of the same name. However, the cargo area is naturally closed and the car received a full-fledged covered body, typical for crossovers and SUVs. Based on this, it is clear that the "spare wheel" will be mounted on the tailgate. And, most likely, the tailgate will not open up, but to the side.
And if the teaser from the official website shows only the silhouette of the car, then in the recently published photographs from the presentation, you can examine in detail the appearance of the new SUV of the famous brand. The massive C-pillar, which is perhaps the key part of the pickup, will remain intact. But the rear of the body will be significantly widened in the area of the rear wheel arches. In addition, the lower panel, located at the front of the body, will have a different look from a similar part of the pickup truck. In particular, the holes near the towing hooks will become larger.
But as for the technical component, both cars will be, experts say, completely identical. This is due to the fact that both cars are built on a single platform and external changes will not affect the technical component in any way. Therefore, no surprises in terms of power plants and transmissions are expected. Nothing radically new is expected from the interiors either. The only thing that really worries representatives of automotive journalism is the presence or absence of a third row of seats.
About when the new SUV will appear at the official dealers of Hummer, too, so far nothing is known. But about the Edition 1 pickup, everything is already known for sure: its sales will begin in the fall of 2021, and the EV3X truck version - in a year. Therefore, it is logical to assume that the EV will go on sale in this interval.
